BRIDGING GAPS BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITIES AND THE COMMUNITY

The World Environment Day is celebrated on the 5íth of June of every year.
It is conceived by the United Nations as a principal vehicle to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment and to enhance the political attention and action

The agenda is to give a human face to environmental issues; empower people to become active agents of sustainable and equitable development; promote an understanding that communities are pivotal to changing attitudes towards environmental issues; and advocate partnership which will ensure all nations and peoples enjoy a safer and more prosperous future. (United Nations)

On this Occasion, The Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, in coordination with the offices of Public Relations and Sponsored Research organized a seminar trying to bridge gaps between the universities and the local community, especially the municipalities and the NGOs.
