Message from the President

On behalf of Notre Dame University–Louaize (NDU), I would like to welcome you to our website. As a Catholic not-for-profit University inspired by the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Maronite Order of the Holy Virgin Mary, and as a University committed to the philosophy and standards of the American model of liberal arts education, NDU has distinguished itself for the past twenty-five years as one of the premier universities in Lebanon.

In carrying out its Mission, NDU recognizes as its principal responsibility the importance of providing the highest quality education by generating knowledge and understanding through research and scholarship in the sciences, humanities, and professional disciplines—a responsibility that has enabled us to adapt, evolve, and meet challenges at every turn.
The intended purpose of this website is to act as a source of information, regarding our University. Each subject on the menu list has been allotted a separate part of this website, where it includes other selected information, current at the time of posting, which is directly or indirectly related to the University.

Our vision is to see an increase in the content provided herein and to ensure that the current information will be subject to periodic review in light of future experience. It is therefore our intention to revise the website when appropriate to reflect changes and/or amendments, and to introduce new and updated information.

Such periodic reviews are of the utmost necessity given that the twenty-first century has unfolded enormous challenges. Global influences of ever-greater complexity increasingly shape the lives of people in contemporary society within economic, social, political, technological, and cultural spheres.

Religion is not perhaps the dominant factor influencing our future, but the high velocity change, which science and technology have inflicted on our lives. Our situational reality is undoubtedly vastly different from what it once was. These realities require new thinking about how to prepare students for a new society, which is fluid, complex, and elusive.

Since its inception, NDU has had a rich history of opening its doors to the world and of exchanging ideas and research with scholars from other countries, a fact which has enabled its credibility and impact.

I encourage you to explore our website and learn more about our academic programs, campuses, admissions, and research and development, among others. I look forward to seeing you on campus.

Rev. Fr. Walid Moussa, S.T.D.
